Just Love!

I know that at the end of the semester things are stressful, but I would like to say that I have become friends with Spring, and I really think that I have become a better communicator with my husband! Yes there are times when I wanted to kill both of these people but with every relationship you have to take good with bad, you have to be able to work through things, and try new things. I really think that I did the best I could and I really feel like I have improved my relationship with Spring and with my husband. I know that this class has really helped me be more open  minded and thoughtful about other people instead of being kind of selfish and blaming things on others! Thank you Sister McKenna!

All Around AH-MAZING

This semester has gone through it's own ups and downs. It's own trials and it's own triumphs. I really did enjoy this semester and had a blast! I loved this communications class and would recommend it to anyone who asks me about it. It has helped so much with my communication skills! I really hope that I am able to continue to grow  in my communication with other and continue to do better than I had before. I know that I will slip up, I know that I will mess up and I know that I will offend someone. But trying my best NOT to do those things, and striving to do the best I can with my communication on my part will really help not only me but the people that I am trying to communicate with. I believe that this class has helped not only my communication but my relationship with others!

Celestial Marriage

I read a great article on Celestial Marriage by Russel M. Nelson. He talked about how picking your partner is a lot like shopping. How a wise shopper study's their options thoroughly before they make a selection. Then there are bargain shoppers that just search for the best deal and don't really think about what they're doing. How you need to decide what you want in a companion and you shouldn't settle because it's the "bargain" of a deal or it's "easier".

He also talked about how your salvation is an individual matter, and your exaltation is a family matter. It depends on you family whether or not you will receive exaltation. A good quote is "the noblest yearning of the human heart is for a marriage that can endure beyond death."

There were a couple other quotes that I wanted to share:

"husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other." So it is your responsibility to love you husband/wife as well as them love you, it has to go both ways or else it won't work.

The last quote I want to share is from President Thomas S. Monson:
"To find real happiness,  we must seek for it in a focus outside ourselves. No one has learned the meaning of living until he has surrendered his ego to the service of his fellow man. Service to others is akin to duty-the fulfillment of which brings true joy."
We have to serve our spouses, we have to be there for them and do everything that we can to be the best for them, and they should strive to be the best for you.
Holiness to the Lord
The House of the Lord

You never know!

Sister McKenna said something that has really stuck with me all semester. Her quote of the day I guess you could call it was "you never have a second chance to make a good first impression." It is just so true because when someone makes that first impression of you, and if it's negative, it will stick with them for pretty much forever! You will never be able to take that moment back so you have to be careful about what you say and how you act around people because you just never know!

Scripture in class

So there was a scripture said in class that really stuck out to me that I think helps with not only communications class but with life. It's D&C 136: 23-24
"Cease to contend one with another; cease to speak evil one of another.
Cease drunkenness; and let your words tend to edifying one another."
I think everyone needs to realize that they need to lift up one another, that we need to edify and love each other not judge or speak evil of everyone.

My Love Language

In class we got a quiz called "The Five Love Languages Quiz", which we were suppose to take so that we can figure out what our love language is. I took  the quiz and it says that my top love language is quality time and then a tie for second is physical touch and words of affirmation. I think this is extremely accurate! I'm not a person who is big on getting these fancy gifts or any gifts at all, and when you do service for me I really appreciate it but it doesn't let me know that you love me!
I really enjoy snuggling, I love being able to just sit right next to my husband on the couch. Have him have his arm around me in church, or just spending time around me! I love being around my husband and love that he loves being around me. It means more to me that we are around each other than if  we were apart and he just did some service for me while I wasn't there. I love him and I love that he understands what I need so that I can feel loved by him!

Non-Verbal communication

We did an exercise when we studied  non-verbal communication, where during class, we went on campus and tested out how others would react to our non-verbal communication. We went out and just kind of messed around with peoples personal space and touch. It was so fun! We went to the second floor of the library which is the quiet floor, and went to the little cubicles that you do solo studying at. One of us grabbed a book and sat right next to this one guy sitting all alone. Then another grabbed another book and sat on the other side of him. Then someone else came and grabbed a chair and brought it between him and another person in our group, then we started to get really really close to him. He froze! He had no idea what to do! His shoulders were up to his ears and his face got all red! It was the funniest thing I have ever seen! Activities like this are what make college enjoyable, they are what make this class one of the best classes! Because I legitimately really enjoy class, and enjoy coming and learning about what I can improve in my everyday life!

Things as They Really Are

We were asked to read an article called Things as They Really Are  by Elder David A. Bednar. It was a very interesting article and even though I am not planning on having children anytime soon, it definitely got me thinking about that. It's kind of weird because I think that I am too young to even think about having children but the more and more I think about it the more it becomes prevalent in my life, thinking that if the Lord wants me to have children He will prepare a way for me to do so. He will make sure that I am  taken care of and that my child will be as well, all I need to do is love it, take care of it, and teach it correct principles. Yes the thought of having children scares me to death! But I must admit that it is one of the main reasons we came to this Earth. To help others obtain a mortal body, to go and "multiply and replenish the earth", to build an eternal family. It all starts here, and sometimes I wonder if me thinking that  I am not ready to have children is Lucifer telling me that I am not ready. That I really need to take that step into the darkness and to have faith that everything will work out. Maybe.....or maybe I am just being silly and that having a baby is something that you should plan, not just go with the flow. I don't want my child to grow up with just enough to get by. I want to be able to provide for my child and take the best care of it that I can, not just scrape from one month to the next. But really who is "prepared" for a child? I don't know. What a confusing topic that I have to pray  about. Then start asking my husband about!! .....

wrap up

This semester is coming to a screeching hault, and I'm exhausted. It seems like the more I get stressed out the sicker I get, I keep getting this cold thing, which I guess is just because of the stress but it just doesn't make anything any easier, AT ALL. Because on top of just being tired in general I'm exhausted and cold and have a stuffy nose and....ugh....but it will all work out. We just have one more week and I'm out of here!
I'm going down to Utah before we go to Texas to get my Wisdom Teeth taken out! I guess I'm not going to be very wise anymore, but that is going to be an adventure. I found out when I had my gall bladder removed that I'm allergic to morophine and vicadine so unfortunately I won't be getting the good stuff for the pain, so I don't know how well I'm gonna handle everything! Wish me luck!!!! :D

SALE!!!

So my husband and I are moving to Texas....as you know....and since we only have a little 2 door car we can't really bring everything with us. I mean unless we got a Uhaul but...we decided it would cost too much...anyways...WE'RE SELLING OUR STUFF! All of it pretty much, which is pretty nerve racking, and not very exciting but also kind of exciting all at the same time. We have our bed sold and a bunch of other stuff, so it's nice to have this extra money to make it down to Texas with, but also crazy because we have been getting calls, texts, emails since the minute we put our stuff up online! It's crazy how badly somebody wants a $5 iron!! I just can't even imagine bargaining the way some of these people have tried to with us. I mean....it's a $5 iron! Ha well some people are just that way I guess, and I feel like I really communicated with these people clearly but for some reason they still just didn't get it, I guess that's communication conflict for ya!

Luck O' the Irish!

Me, My husband Jake, and Robby our good friend
So my husband and I went to a St. Patricks Day party at our good friend Missy and Matt's house. It was SO much fun!!! I love St. Patrick's Day! I mean I am Irish so it's something that I really enjoy! Back home we used to make corn beef and cabbage and totally deck out all in green! Here we just deck out in green, hit a green pinata and play a lot of games! Of course this party is never complete without green mugs with wonderfully awesome root beer in them, and some cool green colored BBQ wings! It was a great time with a great bunch of friends! We will miss them a lot when we move!
Before the partahay!

Yea my husband likes wings...a lot...

The fun pinata!!!...that we beat with a tennis racket....

sooo....

this is called a scale
So I have found that it is really hard to talk about yourself, this is my section that I need to work more on! So the cheerleading part of the semester is coming to a close and I don't really know how I feel about it or not. This semester I feel like I grew a lot in learning a lot of new things, and really stepping my game up, but I also feel like I wasn't able to show it off very well, since I'm not the coach and all....but that's a different story. I don't know I love cheerleading and I really hope that I am able to continue to do it, even if I am just involved, like being a coach or something, the rest of my life!

this is called a scorpion

the end.

I know that in the beginning of the semester I wanted to be able to have the spirit with me as I am reading the scriptures, and I believe that I was able to accomplish that goal. I know that not every time you read the scriptures you are going to be prompted to go somewhere else in them, but I also have been trying really REALLY hard to say a pray before and after my scripture reading so that I will be able to be more in tune with the spirit, and I really feel like I made progress. It made my scripture study more meaningful and I feel like I got a lot more personal gain out of my reading/studying instead of just the words on the page, which is what I really wanted to do this semester. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and his and my Father Heavenly Father. I know that they live and love me. I will always strive to improve my communication with them and will always strive to do the best that I can for them.
my  favorite picture of the Savior

My goal with My Heavenly Father

I know that I  needed to write this in the beginning of the blog but I totally forgot and I was going through my check list and BAM there it is....found it in my journal.
My goal this semester with my Heavenly Father is to have a closer "reading scriptures relationship". I want to be able to have His spirit with me, and I want to be able to read the scriptures and be taken where He wants me to go, not just where I am reading at the time. When I can become sensitive enough to the spirit for scripture study I know that I will be able to apply it in other aspects of my life as well. I want to be able to keep His spirit with me always, this is my goal.

When things go bad...

Whenever something in my life  just goes SO wrong that I cannot stand it, and most of the time it's with someone that I just can't stand and I know that they are doing that one thing that they know is wrong and will hurt me. I think of this scripture. D&C 136: 30 "Fear not thine enemies, for they are in mine hands and I will do my pleasure with them." And everything seems to just disappear, I would be fearful if I was my enemy! :P

Our Beloved Prophet Joseph Smith

One of my good friends Maraika and I at Historic Kirtland
Recently in my D&C class we went over D&C 135, which is a section that's very near and dear to my hear. This section talks about the martyrdom of Joseph Smith and Hyrum Smith in Carthage, Illinois. This happened June 27, 1844 and the words are written by Elder John Taylor. I don't know why I feel like I have a closer connection to this story than others because I know that other people have visited the church historical sites, just like I have, but I just love them so much. I always loved going to them and visiting Palmyra and Carthage, Kirtland and all of the historical sites out in the east and midwest. I love in vs. 4 the famous quote of Joseph Smith " I am going like a  lamb to the slaughter; but i am calm as a summer's morning; I have a conscience void of offense towards God, and towards all men. I shall die innocent, and it shall yet be said of me-he was murdered in cold blood." I wish I could have the clear conscience like Joseph had and I would love to be able to say this about myself before I died. I also believe it rings true in vs 6 when John Taylor says " the Book of Mormon, and this book of Doctrine and Covenants of the church, cost the best blood of the nineteenth century to bring them forth for the salvation of a ruined world; and that if the fire can scathe a green tree for the glory of God, how easy it will burn up the dry trees to purify the vineyard of corruption. They lived for glory; they died for glory; and glory is their eternal reward. From age to age shall their names go down to posterity as gems for the sanctified."

I love the Prophet Joseph Smith and I know that without him we wouldn't have the Book of Mormon, we wouldn't have this wonderful and true religion that we have today. I love it with all my heart.
My home town relief society went to visit Kirtland. This is outside the temple

We helped preserve the Kirtland Temple!

Whenever....

Whenever I feel down and I feel like things couldn't get any worse, or I just feel a need for uplifting I always go to one scripture. That scripture is 2 Nephi 4:18-21 and it states:

"18 I am encompassed about, because of the temptations and the sins which do so easily beset me.
19 And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth because of my sins; nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted.
20 My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep.
21 He hath filled me with his love, even unto the consuming of my flesh."

These scriptures just always fill me with the Lords everlasting love for me and make me feel his presence in my life even stronger than before!

Color Code

When I did the color code profile I was a red with a yellow as a secondary. This means that I am logic-based and want control but it's only over selective things. I really enjoy having the power and want to be respected and have the  approval of others. My secondary yellow color says that I love to have fun and have no control. I have optimism and am very enthusiastic, having people like me and their approval is volatile. I believe that these are partially true. Yes, I am logic based but I'm not very controlling at all, I do LOVE to have fun and am very enthusiastic but I am enthusiastic when I want to be which I guess might be the selectivity of a red? I really do strive to be liked and want approval but it is also just selective, if you're someone I don't know and have no tie to I don't care about what you have to say about me.

Other Projects

In my religion class I'm also doing another kinda semester project. We are suppose to pick something that we need to work on and work on it throughout the semester, finding scriptures that help us and we give progress reports about how we are doing throughout the semester.
I chose to try and not judge people so quickly. Which is also a good subject for this class, because first impressions mean a lot to a lot of people. I have really been trying to not have these first impressions unless they are positive. I believe that I can do it!

Me Myself and I

So we're moving to Texas! We've put everything that we own on bulletin board and craigs list and trying to leave dodge! It's crazy I never thought I would get out of here and now that I am AND I'm graduating I just don't know what to think of everything. We're going to Texas because I got an amazing job opportunity down in Corpus Christi to work for a Podiatrist being his assistant. Which will pay REALLY well and is an amazing job, but I don't know about everything because I still want to go to grad school and get my Veterinary license and I want to work with animals, that's what I went to school to do and it's what I really want to do, but this opportunity just kind of presented itself and we kind of been running with it. I know that I am a very confident person, that I know what I want and I go and get it! Things are just so crazy and I am getting REALLY excited about moving and starting a new life  down in Texas! It's going to be so much fun! But I have to make sure that I keep my goals in mind, I know that I can do well in anything that I do and that I can accomplish anything! Which is why I am going to do the best I can and I know that the Lord will bless me for doing so!

Personal gain....or loss?

It's been a rough day and I didn't really know where else to write my feelings so....here they are! Today started off just fine, I was enjoying it well enough, everything was going just as it always goes on Wednesdays. Then I find out that there's some extra credit available for my biology class, which I desperately need, so I decided to go to that. After the extra credit (which was actually kind of fun) I decided to go check out open gym for cheerleading. I got there and stretched and chatted and was having a good time when some people wanted to stunt....sure why not....so I was stunting with them and everything was fine when another girl wanted to fly on the group and said she really needed to work on some things and wanted me to watch. So of course it's open gym, I had no problem. As soon as she got up both of the bases were like "wow you're so tiny it's like you weight 20 lbs!" which really made me feel extremely HUGE...which sucks....then they work on a bunch of things and I'm trying to help when one of the bases just yells in my face to shut up....I really thought that this girl was my friend and honestly it really took me back. I didn't really know how to think of it and it really did bother me a bit. I still don't know how I feel about it, I'm really not ok with someone yelling in my face and I know that that's really not ok because of this communications class. It really bothered me and now I am awake at 2:30 am at the bum crack of dawn because I can't sleep because I keep thinking that I'm fat and that my friends really aren't my friends. ugh what a day.....on the up side I got my standing back tuck solid tonight...woohoo....

And Nothing Shall Offend Them

For class we read an article by David A Bednar titled And Nothing Shall Offend Them and we were asked to write a little bit about it, and now I will kind of tell you more of my thoughts on it.

I really like this article. I have struggled a lot this semester with this subject, being offended. Not only because students at this school are tactless and really don't know how to interact with each other, but because teachers here are very interesting. Mainly my Doctrine and Covenants teacher, yes I have had problems with a religion teacher and yes he knows that we have differing views. Not only has he questioned my integrity but also he has questioned just me in general saying how horrible of a person I am for "lying" to him. He asked me a lot of questions about things that were none of his business and yes I did get offended, but I also remembered this article. How President Bednar clearly stated that being offended is a choice. That you can CHOOSE to not be offended. This is an extremely hard concept for me in this situation because this teacher just makes me exceedingly angry. I sometimes can't even stand the sight of him and I have missed a lot of classes because he did offend me deeply. Then I started likening it unto the church and what if someone did that to me in church? Would I just stop coming? Would I give up my blessings of partaking of the sacrament and of remembering those sacred covenants that I have made with my Heavenly Father all because someone offended me?? I think not! I know that I wouldn't give up my blessings just because someone offended me, and I won't give up learning because this moronic teacher offended me. I refuse.....

Teasing

Sometimes Jake will tease me about something that isn't done around the house. I know that he's just teasing me but it really does bug me, like he will be like wow honey the kitchen is really dirty when are you going to clean it? Like I know he's kidding and he will help me clean it, but sometimes I just really don't like it and I really don't like that he would say that to me. Like what I'm doing and what I'm working on isn't as important as what he  is doing and working on and I just need to do all the home things and he will work and go to school and I'll just be waiting at home for him with the house clean and a cute little outfit on and everything in it's proper order. Yes I would gladly do that if I too didn't have work and school and a ton of homework and cheerleading and everything else going on! Cut me some slack! ugh.....I know he's teasing....I know he's teasing....I know he's teasing....

Grain of salt

Sometimes I just get so so so so mad at Jake for the dumbest things, and I need to realize that they are just little things and it's not that big of a deal. Jake and I have recently found out that we are moving to Texas to go to school and work and in the beginning when we were still deciding between Texas and Florida he was entirely set on Florida. Which I would be ok with but I just....I don't want to be in Florida. I really like to visit Florida and I really enjoy the state but I don't know if I would like to live there. Not only that but the University of Florida really doesn't have much of what I am studying, it has a great program for him but not for me. But he kept insisting until I finally had to put my foot down, and yes he got angry but he also realized that it was the best decision for both him and I and not just for him. There's a lot for both of us still to learn about each other even though we dated FOREVER and we have known each other for a really long time. It never ceases to amaze me with how different we are.

Scriptures/class

So I really despise my D&C teacher, like pretty much HATE the man....which I would never say about anyone but I really dislike this man. Anyways things have gone a little crazy in his class and I feel like I have been singled out and it has made me resent a lot of the things that he is teaching and it made me not want  to listen to him. But I have come to realize that he really does know things and he really can get me closer to the Savior if I listen to what he has to say, use my own judgement yes, but at least listen to what he has to say. Because I have opened my mind to this I feel like I have been a lot more positive and open to things that are going on in my life, which makes me happier and helps my temperament towards everyone. :)

The Temple

So I get a call from the bishop the other day saying that he wants me to come in and do my interview to work at the temple. Which I was very confused about because I don't remember ever putting my name into the temple to work there? Then I realized that it has always been my husbands dream to work in the temple with me and I automatically assume that it was him that put my name in and recommended me. Which is fine and I shouldn't be mad about it but it really did kind of annoy me that he didn't even talk to me about it he just put my name in the temple and said I wanted to work there when I am extremely intimidated because I've only been through the temple like 10 times and thinking that you have to be an expert in order to work there it is a bit intimidating. Then I realized that it's a blessing. I was reading my scriptures, honestly I don't even remember where, and I just realized that it's a huge blessing to be considered to work in the temple and that I should be extremely grateful that my husband recommended me and he was doing it out of the kindness of his heart and of wanting me to be closer to my Heavenly Father! I wish I could really work there, but I have already seen the change in my attitude and in my life because I was willing to give up my time and energy to work inside the Lord's house!

Woohoo!

It all worked out! The performance went soooooo well! I loved it and I loved being a part of it! It was amazing! We did so well that I can't even believe it! It must have been the prayer that James gave before the performance that had the hole thing pull together because we all were super nervous and didn't know what to think about a lot of our skills and everything. But the good thing that came about all of this is that Spring and I got close again and we hugged each other after and were really excited and happy about our performance!
Slam Dunk

Practice

So practice got really really troubling the past couple of times. Everyone is really stressed about slam dunk contest and no one really knows how to properly deal with it. It feels like everyone is  at each others throats and that they just want to kill each other!!! Which is not good at all and Spring and I think everyone is just done with cheerleading right now. Our coach isn't doing the best job of coaching and isn't really helping us understand what we need to do to fix a lot of things. She just says we have to do it again and no one knows why really.....super frustrating....we need more of a leader....

Engaged??

So this girl that I have been trying to get a long with and really trying to improve our relationship (Spring) has gotten engaged! Yes you heard me engaged. Which I tend to think is really kind of weird because she complained about her boyfriend/fiance a lot. Things were just really weird and strange, I didn't understand why they got engaged but they seem happy about it  so I think that it's the right decision? I really hope it's the right decision it's not something that you want to make a wrong decision about.......

Personality colors...

So when I took the personality test it said that I was a red with yellow as my secondary but now that I think of it I think that I'm becoming more and more of a yellow. I can see how when I was little I was more red, but now I think that I'm becoming more yellow. I think that I have to be yellow in order to be married to my husband. He's an amazing man and I love him deeply but sometimes his emotions get the best of him and he gets super sensitive which to the red self of me gets annoying sometimes. I really do enjoy being in charge and taking control of things, and yes I do have a strong personality that kind of gets forced on people, but I really hope that my yellow starts shining through now because I think that the yellow part of me is really the part that people love :).

Meaningful Experiences

The three top most meaningful experiences in my life, that have been a HUGE positive impact are meeting my husband, being accepted and attending BYU-I, and getting married to my husband. I know two of them have to do with my husband but he means a lot to me and he helped me through a lot in my life.

I met my husband at an impasse in my life. Things could of gone either way, yes I had decided to get things back on track and to get my life back together but I was with someone who didn't feel the same way that I did, not only about the church but about life styles. I did love that man very much but, since I decided to do things better, and to live my life better, it had to end. And when one door closes another opens, and I met Jake about 3 days after things ended. He was such a positive influence on my life! He just got back from his mission like a week beforehand and he had such a wonderful spirit about him it just drew me in and never let me go. He loves so deeply and didn't care about my past and what had happened and what I had done, he just knew that I was standing in front of him begging forgiveness from the Lord and he would help me through all my difficulties. I don't know why he did but he was there for me every step of the way.

Being accepted to BYU-I was just the second stepping stone that just fell into place after I decided to get my life back on track. I was so nervous that I wouldn't be accepted because of my grades (which weren't bad) and because of my lifestyle. But I had turned things around and was really going about life in a different way and I think that the Lord spoke to those people looking at my admissions and knew that I had to be here. I met my best friends Kelsey Thacker and Kiah Dixon here and I will forever be thankful to this school for that! I do love this school, it's just time for me to leave now, it's done everything it can for me and I have grown so much from it, thank you so much BYU-I.

Lastly, marrying my husband. Going through the temple that day was amazing, there are no words that can describe how it felt and how I felt when I went through the Nauvoo, IL temple. I love that temple so much and I love that we got married there. There really are no words to express how much love I felt not only for my husband but for my family and for my Savior and Heavenly Father. I will never forget those feelings on that day.

Video Games....AHHHHH

So lately Jake has been on a video gaming SPREE!!! It's gotten crazy and it's gotten to a point where we are late to the places that we want to go and to meet people because he just wants to play one more game or has to get to a point to save the game....and yes it doesn't really effect my school work because I'm not playing but it seems like it really is effecting my school work because I keep getting so annoyed with him doing that! ugh....dang video games. I need to talk to him about it and really let him know but I need to do it before he starts playing because once he starts he gets pseudo listening going on and doesn't really pay attention to me. blah blah blah....ugh

friends??

Spring is engaged!!!! It's so crazy! I never thought it would've happened, not because she's not pretty but because the guy she's dating just doesn't seem like the marrying type I guess. But I'm really happy for her! And her ring is gorgeous!! Does this mean, that this makes me happy, that we are becoming friends? That I actually enjoyed hearing about the engagement and I enjoyed talking to her that we will actually get a long all the time? I really hope so :)

Bring it back....

So cheer is getting better after last performance. Everyone was down each others throats about it! Everyone was I think, just scared of the performance because it's just super difficult which just makes everyone on edge and everyone not wanting others to talk and ugh....if you've ever been on a team sport you know what I'm talking about......but now that the performance went better than was expected everyone is getting to be each others friend again.
Spring is starting to be a friend. I know that I said that I would never be friends with her but it's starting to become that way and it makes me really happy :)

Where is the love?

I'm really excited for this semester to be over! It seems like it keep dragging....not because of this communications class but because it's just a rough semester and the weather is just getting to me. I have been really short tempered lately and I feel really bad for my husband, but he takes the abuse well, with me being crazy and all. But it does make me realize that I need to really start listening more to what he has to say because he really can make me feel better, but when I'm in a bad mood sometimes I just want to be in a bad mood! But I feel bad that he can't make me feel better no matter what he does :(

Blessings

So I decided that things are starting to get better because I decided to work in the temple with my husband and it's really exciting to be able to do that! I am really excited to work in the temple it's going to be really scary because I haven't been able to go in for a super long time but hopefully everything will be awesome! and I know that I will get blessings for being in the temple!

AH!

So I find out new things everyday! I found out that I can graduate with my associates in Animal Science general studies with a cluster in Animal Health and it's basically the same thing as graduating with my vet tech license! I just have to take and pass the test! WOOHOO!!! Things are starting to look up!

gettin it up

So I know that last time I posted I was extremely discouraged but  now I have a new kindled hope! I found out that I can transfer and still get my vet tech license!!! woohoo! I'm getting closer each and every day!

cheer wha?!

So I think I did regress in my effort of trying to be nicer to Spring.....yes it is difficult and yes things have gotten really stressful in cheer so everyone wants to rip each others head off.....maybe everyone is on their period?

Drivin me nuts...

So I know that I can rant about my teacher for forever but I think that him being a complete jerk will really help me. He is legit crazy, but he does assign good scriptures (never explains them) but he does assign good ones. D&C 112:10 "Be though humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answers to thy prayers." I love the scriptures and I love how they make me feel when I read them, how my/our Lord is sitting right next to me reading them with me!

UGH!!!!!

So I'm in a D&C class, the second half, and I love the D&C and it has always been a goal of mine to really strive to learn from it and to delve deeper into it than normal. And starting this class was so exciting to me but now it's gotten CARAZY! This teacher drives me nuts! I feel like I learn more by myself then through him, and isn't he suppose to be the professor??? But I was reading in the D&C in our assigned reading and it talked about forgiveness and have charity towards others, even people you don't like.....dang it......

Listening part dos

Listening....dang it's a lot harder to actively listen than I have ever thought! I really am a bad listener!!! haha it's just crazy how much that goes into listening and I do, do active listening often with people that I actually want to talk to, like my friends and husband, but when people are uninteresting it's really hard! I really have to learn to not be a selectively listening or insensitive listening because that's really hard for me. It's so hard for me to be empathetic towards people that it's crazy. There are some things that I do get empathetic about and I really feel like I have improved a lot in that. My cousin Catie was over the other day and we got talking about our husbands as we always do, and we weren't complaining about them we were actually saying the wonderful things that they do and it was a really good conversation and I feel like we talked about a lot of really meaningful things that really helped both of us....at least I feel like it helped me. So Catie good listening skills!

Listening part uno

For class we have to give a presentation on a part of communication, and I was assigned Communication and Listening. It was a really kind of surprise I suppose but who knows maybe I will learn something from it, since my husband thinks that I don't listen very well ;)
